American Athletic Conference tournament to be in Memphis
The American Athletic Conference will hold its first men's basketball tournament in Memphis.
American Athletic Conference commissioner Mike Aresco visited FedExForum last Wednesday and will announce "sooner rather than later" that his league's first men's basketball tournament will be played in Memphis' downtown arena just off of Beale Street, a source told CBSSports.com.
The official announcement is now set for Tuesday in Memphis.
The American is a 10-school league headlined by national champion Louisville, Memphis, UConn, Cincinnati and Temple. Louisville and Memphis are both in the CBSSports.com preseason Top 25 (and one). FedExForum is home to the Grizzlies and Tigers.
