Ben McLemore suffers ankle injury in Kansas' win
With less than than three minutes remaining in Kansas' 61-44 win over Baylor, star Ben McLemore injured his ankle.
Ben McLemore has been one of the best players in the country over the past couple of weeks, really hitting his stride. However, the Kansas redshirt freshman's momentum might be stalled after Monday night's 61-44 win over Baylor.
With less than than three minutes remaining, McLemore injured his ankle. He was down on the court for several minutes, but was able to walk off the court to the locker room.
The extent of McLemore’s injury is unclear, although head coach Bill Self shared some details on his post-game radio show.
Self says on radio interview McLemore has a sprained ankle. Should be OK. McLemore says he heard a pop.— CJ Moore (@cjmoore4) January 15, 2013
McLemore continued his stellar play on Monday, going for 17 points and eight rebounds. Last week, the 6-foot-5 St. Louis native went for 33 points, including the game-tying 3-pointer, to help beat Iowa State. He is averaging 16.4 points and 5.2 rebounds on the season, shooting 50 percent from the field and 43.1 percent from 3-point range.
Given his recent performances, there are some people pointing to him as a possible No. 1 pick in June.
