Bracketology: Pitt out, BYU in

Pittsburgh's 69-66 loss at Wake Forest knocked the Panthers out of the bracket for now.

BYU moved up to take their spot. The Cougars might have some trouble holding onto it, though. There isn't really any significant way to improve their profile in the WCC tournament without beating Gonzaga, and if they do that, they won't need an at-large bid. Meanwhile, other teams could be adding quality wins to their resume, making it possible for BYU to get jumped.

Conference tournaments start this week. We have a page with all of the conference tournament schedules and brackets as they become available. Besides the WCC tourament, the Missouri Valley tournament is a place where bids could be stolen. If anyone besides Gonzaga, Wichita State or Northern Iowa wins their respective tournaments, someone will fall off the bubble.
