Butler’s top recruit, Kyle Young, decides to follow Chris Holtmann to Ohio State
The Buckeyes hired Holtmann to replace Thad Matt earlier this month
Kyle Young, the prize of what was Butler's best recruiting class in school history, has decommitted from the Bulldogs so that he can follow Chris Holtmann to Ohio State.
OSU hired Holtmann to replace Thad Matta on June 9.
Young is the 77th-best prospect in the Class of 2017, according to 247Sports. The 6-foot-6 forward scored 19.3 points per game as a senior at Jackson High in Ohio. He previously had offers from, among others, Michigan State, Florida and Illinois.
"I could not be more excited to announce that I am staying home to play for Coach Holtmann and the Ohio State Buckeyes next season," Young tweeted Monday afternoon. "His vision for Ohio State Basketball is exciting. And I want to be a part of building something special in my home state."
