Cleveland Melvin no longer enrolled at DePaul

DePaul's leading scorer, Cleveland Melvin, hasn't played since scoring 25 points in a loss to Xavier on January 25.

On Monday night, the school announced that Melvin was no longer enrolled at the school and was not a member of the basketball team anymore.

The college career for Melvin, a 6-foot-8 senior from Baltimore, is over.

When focused, Melvin was one of the most productive players in the Big East. He averaged 16.7 points and 6.4 rebounds this season, including three double-doubles and a 30-point, eight-rebound performance against Butler.

According to the school, the 2011 Big East Rookie of the Year ranks among DePaul's all-time leaders in scoring, scoring average, rebounding, field goals, blocked shots and free throws.

The Blue Demons are in the midst of yet another struggle-filled season, as a six-game losing streak has brought their record to 10-14 overall and 2-9 in the Big East.
