College basketball odds, picks, lines, predictions, best bets for Jan. 12: Three-way parlay from expert on 14-0 run
Josh Nagel has a three-way parlay that could pay off huge Saturday
Saturday presents a plethora of opportunities to bet on college basketball. But finding a gem is harder than it looks. Among the marquee matchups Saturday, North Carolina hosts Louisville in an ACC showdown at noon ET, No. 13 Florida State hosts No. 1 Duke at 2 p.m. ET, No. 25 TCU plays at No. 23 Oklahoma and No. 3 Tennessee heads to Florida for a 6 p.m. ET tip. Fans will be playing wagers on college basketball odds all across the nation, but before you make any college basketball picks, check out what SportsLine senior analyst Josh Nagel has to say. He's on a dazzling run picking college hoops.
A Nevada-based expert with more than 20 years of experience in the sports wagering industry, Nagel specializes in handicapping college athletics. He hit 60 percent of his college basketball spread picks last season and is off to an incredible start in 2018-19.
Heading into Saturday's action, Nagel has hit an astonishing 14 straight college basketball picks for SportsLine members, an unheard-of streak that's fattened the bankrolls of those tailing his picks.
Now, Nagel is going huge for Saturday, putting together a three-team parlay of best bets that could return a massive 6-to-1 payout. If you wager $100, it would return $600. If you go big, it could be a life-changing start to the weekend.
We'll give one key part of the parlay away: Nagel is backing Kansas (-3.5) in a road matchup at Baylor at 4 p.m. ET. Nagel is 10-2 picking Baylor games for SportsLine, and 7-2 in his last nine picking Kansas -- a combined 17-4 involving these teams.
Kansas (13-2) is ranked No. 7 in the lasted Associated Press poll, but is No. 1 in the CBSSPORTS.COM RPI rankings, thanks to a non-conference slate that includes wins over Michigan State, Tennessee, Marquette and Villanova. KU was throttled at Iowa State 77-60 last Saturday in its first game without talented big man Udoka Azubuike, who will miss the rest of the season (wrist). But the team rebounded with an impressive 77-68 win over TCU on Wednesday. TCU beat Baylor last Saturday.
Dedric Lawson, the Jayhawks' 6-9 junior and leading scorer, had 31 points and 14 rebounds in that game, and Nagel points to him being a matchup nightmare for the offense-challenged Bears. Baylor (9-5) averages just 71.4 ppg, ranking 248th in the nation -- the Under has hit 10 of its 14 games. Kansas can score in bunches, and Nagel isn't sure the Bears have the scoring to keep up if Kansas goes on one of its patented runs.
Kansas has also covered in three of four as a road favorite, and is 3-1 ATS when favored by under seven points.
Nagel is also fading a favorite Saturday that he says he due for a letdown, and has identified a huge X-factor in another game that causes one side of the spread to hit hard. Find out everything you need to know to complete your parlay selections over at SportsLine.
So which Saturday college basketball picks should you back for a huge 6-to-1 payout? And which team does Nagel believe you need to stay far away from?
