Kansas extended Oklahoma's losing streak to six games late Monday via a 104-74 beatdown inside Allen Fieldhouse. So the Sooners are now 16-11 overall, 6-9 in the Big 12 and in need of a three-game winning streak to close the regular season just to avoid finishing below .500 in league games. Obviously, OU can still earn an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament with a losing record in league games. But it's rare for a team to do so -- evidence being that it's only happened 10 times in the past 10 years.
Meantime, KU is rolling.
The Jayhawks have won three straight games since losing at Baylor to improve to 22-6 overall and 11-4 in the Big 12 -- and their 12 top-50 KenPom wins is more than anybody else in the nation possesses. Next up is Saturday's massive game at Texas Tech that could ultimately determine whether Kansas wins a 14th straight Big 12 title.
