Oklahoma needed a signature win on national television to launch itself into the national conversation. The Sooners got exactly that Saturday afternoon courtesy of a 91-83 victory at Wichita State

"We just showed that we can play on a big stage against a great team," OU freshman Brady Manek told reporters afterward. And he was right. So now the Sooners are 8-1 with three top-50 KenPom wins -- specifically victories over Wichita State, USC and Oregon. I have moved Lon Kruger's team to 13th in the CBS Sports Top 25 (and one).

And how much fun is Trae Young

The fabulous freshman finished with 29 points and 10 assists against Wichita State and is now averaging 28.8 points and 8.9 assists in 32.7 minutes per game. That means he's leading the nation in points per game and is third in the nation in assists per game. It's not crazy -- in fact, it's probably accurate -- to suggest he's the leading candidate to win National Player of the Year.

Oklahoma is one of two new additions to Sunday morning's Top 25 (and one). The other is the only team to beat Oklahoma -- Arkansas, which is 8-2 thanks to wins over OU, Minnesota, Fresno State and Connecticut. The Sooners and Razorbacks replaced Florida and Notre Dame, both of which lost to unranked teams Saturday. Florida lost to Clemson while Notre Dame lost to Indiana. The Gators are 1-4 in their past five games with a home loss to Loyola Chicago. The Irish are 2-3 in their past five games with two sub-70 KenPom losses to Ball State and IU.

The complete Top 25 (and one) is below.
