Who's Playing

Gardner-Webb @ No. 7 Duke

Current Records: Gardner-Webb 0-2; Duke 3-0

What to Know

The Gardner-Webb Bulldogs are on the road again on Tuesday and play against the #7 Duke Blue Devils at 7 p.m. ET Nov. 16 at Cameron Indoor Stadium. The Blue Devils will be strutting in after a victory while Gardner-Webb will be stumbling in from a defeat.

The contest between the Bulldogs and the Arkansas Razorbacks this past Saturday was not a total blowout, but with Gardner-Webb falling 86-69 on the road, it was darn close to turning into one. A silver lining for Gardner-Webb was the play of guard Julien Soumaoro, who shot 5-for-7 from downtown and finished with 20 points. Soumaoro hadn't helped his team much against the UNLV Rebels last Wednesday, so this was a nice turnaround for him.

Meanwhile, Duke strolled past the Campbell Fighting Camels with points to spare this past Saturday, taking the matchup 67-56. Duke got double-digit scores from four players: forward Paolo Banchero (18), forward Wendell Moore Jr. (15), guard Jeremy Roach (14), and forward Joey Baker (11).

The Bulldogs have to know they'll be fighting an uphill battle given the 21 point spread they are up against. However, those who like betting on the underdog should be happy to hear that they are 2-0 against the spread when expected to lose.

Gardner-Webb's loss took them down to 0-2 while Duke's win pulled them up to 3-0. This past Saturday the Blue Devils relied heavily on Wendell Moore Jr., who had 15 points and five assists in addition to five rebounds. It will be up to Gardner-Webb's defense to limit his damage.
