Fenner lifts Savannah State past Howard 91-90
SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) Alante Fenner scored a career-high 27 points, including the winning bucket, and grabbed 10 rebounds to lift Savannah State to a 91-90 win over Howard on Monday night.
Savannah State (6-13, 3-1 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) led most of the game but Howard stayed close and edged into the lead with 1:57 left when Dalique Mingo dropped in a layup to make it 88-87. Mingo then hit a pair of free throws to stretch the lead to three before Savannah State's Austin Dasent also sank two free throws to again make it a one-point game.
