Five-star Class of 2018 point guard Devon Dotson commits to Kansas

Kansas landed its third Class of 2018 commitment on Friday in five-star point guard Devon Dotson. Dotson made the call to commit to the Jayhawks over Maryland, Florida, Arizona, Louisville and others.

"It just felt right when I took my visit there," Dotson told 247Sports. "I love the coaching staff. Coach [Bill] Self is a great guy. He's a Hall of Fame coach and I feel like I can get better there and improve."

"Seems like he really cares about his players," Dotson continued on Self. "The players love him. I feel like the players there have a great relationship with him and that's big when it comes to picking a school. We clicked and I liked it a lot."

Dotson, from Charlotte (N.C.) Providence Day, is rated as the No. 24 overall prospect in the Class of 2018, and the No. 2 player at his position according to the 247Sports composite. He is the highest-rated commitment of KU's class, which now ranks third nationally behind only North Carolina and Arizona -- the latter of which could have trouble hanging on to its top-rated pledge.

KU's Class of 2018 now consists of Dotson and two talented 4-star prospects in big men David McCormack and Silvio De Sausa.
