Harvard's Kenyatta Smith out for season with broken bone in foot
Harvard's Kenyatta Smith will miss the rest of the season after suffering another foot injury.
Harvard’s Kenyatta Smith missed the first 17 games of the season with a right foot injury, but made his first appearance on Sunday at Dartmouth. Then in practice on Monday, Smith broke a bone in the same foot.
He will miss the rest of the season, the school announced on Friday.
Smith, a 6-foot-8 center from California, was expected to be a factor down low for the Crimson this season. He averaged 5.8 points, 4.3 rebounds and 2.1 blocks last season, despite playing just 14.5 minutes per game. Smith also put up back-to-back 10-point efforts in the NCAA tournament against New Mexico and Arizona.
Harvard is 15-3 this season, and will host league contender Princeton on Friday.
