Who's Playing

Vanderbilt @ Georgia

Current Records: Vanderbilt 9-6; Georgia 5-11

What to Know

The Vanderbilt Commodores have been on the wrong side of a one-way rivalry with the Georgia Bulldogs and are hoping to record their first win since Feb. 7 of 2018. Vanderbilt and UGA will face off in an SEC battle at 6 p.m. ET Saturday at Stegeman Coliseum. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W.'

The Commodores received a tough blow on Tuesday as they fell 78-66 to the Kentucky Wildcats. One thing holding Vanderbilt back was the mediocre play of forward Myles Stute, who did not have his best game: he finished with only six points on 2-for-11 shooting in his 29 minutes on the court.

Meanwhile, UGA ended up a good deal behind the Mississippi State Bulldogs when they played on Wednesday, losing 88-72. Guard Kario Oquendo put forth a good effort for the losing side as he had 28 points along with six boards.

Vanderbilt is the favorite in this one, with an expected 5-point margin of victory. The odds have been favorable for them against the spread on the road this season, even if it's been tough sledding overall. They are 3-1 ATS in away games but only 8-7 all in all.

The losses put the Commodores at 9-6 and UGA at 5-11. Two stats to keep an eye on: Vanderbilt enters the contest with 16.4 takeaways on average, good for 31st best in college basketball. On the other end of the spectrum, UGA is 17th worst in college basketball in takeaways, with only 10.7 on average. So the cards are definitely stacked against UGA.
