Who's Playing

Portland @ Oregon

Current Records: Portland 8-3; Oregon 5-5

What to Know

The Portland Pilots have enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they must head out on the road. They will take on the Oregon Ducks at 9 p.m. ET on Wednesday at Matthew Knight Arena. The Pilots will be seeking to avenge the 80-41 loss they suffered the last time these two teams played Dec. 19 of last year.

Portland escaped with a win on Monday against the Cal Poly Mustangs by the margin of a single free throw, 78-77. Four players on Portland scored in the double digits: forward Kristian Sjolund (20), guard Tyler Robertson (16), guard Mike Meadows (13), and guard Chris Austin (12).

Speaking of close games: Oregon lost 72-69 to the Stanford Cardinal on Sunday on a last-minute half-court bomb from Stanford's forward Jaiden Delaire with 0:01 remaining. The losing side was boosted by forward Quincy Guerrier, who had 18 points along with nine rebounds.

Portland have to know they'll be fighting an uphill battle given the 17 point spread they are up against. However, those who like betting on the underdog should be happy to hear that they are 3-0 against the spread when expected to lose.

Portland's victory lifted them to 8-3 while Oregon's loss dropped them down to 5-5. Kristian Sjolund will be someone to keep an eye on after he shot 5-for-10 from downtown and finished with 20 points on Monday. Let's see if he can build on that strong performance or if Oregon's defense can bottle him up.
