Jackson State's Tevester Anderson retires

Jackson State coach Tevester Anderson is set to retire. 

Anderson ends his 10-year tenure with a 149-170 record. The Tigers were 11-18 this season and 9-9 in the SWAC. 

"We sincerely thank Coach Anderson for his contributions to Jackson State University," Jackson State AD Dr. Vivian L. Fuller said in a statement. "He is truly a professional in collegiate athletics." 

Anderson led Jackson State to a SWAC tournament championship in 2007 and went to the NCAA tournament. The Tigers also went to the NIT in 2010. Anderson was also the head coach at Murray State for five seasons and was 103-52 with the Racers. He also went to a pair of NCAA tournaments.
