Kentucky releases 2014-15 non-conference schedule
Kentucky, the likely preseason No. 1 team, will face an arduous non-conference schedule.
Kentucky is expected to open the 2014-15 college basketball season as the preseason No. 1 team in the country. And if the Wildcats are still atop the rankings when SEC play rolls around, they will certainly have earned it.
The Wildcats released their non-conference schedule on Wednesday, and it's filled with tests against some of the best programs in the country.
The highlights include a showdown in November against Kansas at the Champions Classic in Indianapolis, as well as a battle with Texas as part of the SEC/Big 12 Challenge. Moreover, Kentucky finishes its non-league schedule in style with three straight games against North Carolina, UCLA and Louisville in December.
Kansas is ranked No. 5 in the Top 25 (and one), Texas is No. 9, North Carolina is No. 7, and Louisville is No. 10. That doesn't even include the SEC schedule, which will feature a matchup with No. 6 Florida. Yes, Kentucky will face five other preseason top-10 teams.
Here's the entire non-conference schedule.
