LOOK: Adidas reveals 'Made in March' uniforms for 10 new teams
These aren't totally outrageous. Well, mostly.
We've got another uniform update, everybody.
Adidas has unveiled 10 uniform designs for partner programs. As is the case with most new uniforms, these threads boast the latest and greatest updates in "apparel technology," though I'm pretty sure it's all a ruse to get more pub.
And it's working! Good on you, Adidas.
The "Made in March" uniform series features two teams that are not near inclusion to this year's NCAA Tournament -- Notre Dame and Indiana -- and a third that's fighting for its at-large life in Tennessee.
Everyone else though is comfortably in the field, led by Kansas and Wisconsin, both of which could still steal a No. 1 seed, should either win its league tournament. Baylor, UCLA, Cincinnati and Louisville get the short-sleeve ensemble treatment. (Wondering if/when this fad will fade.)
From the release: "Made in March uniforms feature a functional perforated print pattern along the leg of the stretch woven short to enhance breathability and ventilation, keeping players cool as the clock winds down. Adidas' quick-drying jersey technology found in current NBA uniforms along with ClimaCool zones on the chest, back and side, move heat and moisture away from the body to keep the jersey light and dry as players sweat."
ClimaCool, you say. Sounds impressive. You'd think the government took part in this. It probably did. BIG UNIFORM has taken over sports in the past five years, after all.
The most depressing part of this? It means Kansas, for a time, will have to move away from its throwbacks, which honestly are one of the best uniforms the sport has had in decades.
The Baylor unis, by the by, have an interesting front. Is this the first time a mantra has been officially displayed as the primary identification on a college basketball jersey?
You like that look? Baylor fans seem to. #SicEm has become the war chant for BU fans.
When will we get to see these in action? The teams depicted in the photo above will debut the new look during league tournaments.
