A revamped Erwin Center is part of a $4.25 million upgrade to the Longhorns' hoops facilities
The University of Texas is making significant upgrades to both its women's and men's basketball facilities, which includes a new centerhung video display system and a 360-degree ribbon display in the Frank Erwin Center.
The upgrades will also include renovated men's and women's locker rooms in the Denton A. Cooley Pavilion, new floorboards in both facilities and a new court design at the Longhorns' home arena.
"The upgrades to the Texas Basketball facilities demonstrate the commitment that The University of Texas has to both basketball programs," Texas Athletics Director Mike Perrin said of the renovations. "The Frank Erwin Center and Denton A. Cooley Pavilion will be the homes of our basketball programs for the next several years."
All renovations are expected to be complete before the upcoming 2017-18 basketball season, with an estimated total project cost of $4.25 million according to a release from the university.
"The investment in these upgrades will provide the necessary assets for our student-athletes and enhance a game day experience that Texas fans expect," said Perrin.
