The Loyola Marymount Lions will square off against the Prairie View A&M Panthers at 10 p.m. ET this past Saturday at Albert Gersten Pavilion. Coming off of a win even when the odds were against them, Loyola Marymount has to be feeling especially confident now that the spread is in their favor.

The Lions can't say they have nothing to be thankful for this Thanksgiving week. They snuck past the SMU Mustangs with a 76-70 win last week. Four players on Loyola Marymount scored in the double digits: guard Joe Quintana (24), guard Eli Scott (18), forward Keli Leaupepe (11), and guard Dameane Douglas (10). Scott hadn't helped his team much against the Florida State Seminoles last week, so this was a nice turnaround for him.

Meanwhile, Prairie View A&M found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unfortunate 91-64 punch to the gut against the Grand Canyon Antelopes two weeks ago. Prairie View A&M was surely aware of their 12.5-point disadvantage in the point spread, but the foreknowledge did nothing to prevent the result.

This next game looks promising for Loyola Marymount, who are favored by a full 13.5 points. Those who got lucky with them against the spread last Monday might want to hold off on placing bets this time since the squad has yet to string together back-to-back wins against the spread.

The Lions' victory brought them up to 3-2 while the Panthers' defeat pulled them down to 0-6. Two defensive stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: Loyola Marymount has allowed their opponents to shoot 46.50% from the floor on average, which is the 40th highest shooting percentage allowed in college basketball. Prairie View A&M has experienced some struggles of their own as they are 349th worst in college basketball in points allowed per game, with 83.8 on average. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
