PINE BLUFF, Ark. (AP) Terrance Banyard scored 16 points and Martaveous McKnight hit a jumper in the closing seconds to help Arkansas-Pine Bluff overcome a 19-point deficit to beat Jackson State 60-58 on Monday night.

Charles Jackson made 3 of 4 from 3-point range and finished with 11 points for UAPB (8-15, 8-1 Southwestern Athletic Conference).

Banyard's put-back dunk made it 58-all with 1:58 to play and McKnight hit a fall-away jumper with two seconds left to give the Golden Lions their first lead. Jackson State's Chace Franklin missed a three-quarter court heave at the buzzer.

The Tigers (9-13, 6-3) opened the game with a 10-2 run, led 39-24 at halftime and Chace Franklin's layup pushed the lead to 19 points with 12 minutes to play. Jackson State, however, missed all 10 of its field-goal attempts and committed nine turnovers from there as UAPB scored 27 of the final 33 points.

Travon Harper had back-to-back dunks to spark the closing spurt and McKnight scored 12 points in the final 5 1/2 minutes.

Franklin and Darius Austin scored 16 points apiece, and Julian Daughtry added 12, for Jackson State.
