Miami Hurricanes bounce back, pick up top-100 prospect Davon Reed
Miami suffered a tough recruiting loss on Tuesday when Kameron Williams chose Ohio State. The Hurricanes responded well, though, nabbing Davon Reed.
Davon Reed pledged to Miami on Friday night.
After a very long process, I have decided to commit to the University of Miami!!!— Davon Reed (@ClutchREED_25) September 22, 2012
Reed, a 6-foot-5 wing from Princeton Day (N.J.), chose the Hurricanes over Wake Forest and Xavier. He is ranked No. 92 in the class of 2013.
A skilled offensive player on the perimeter, Reed continues to get stronger and more versatile in the backcourt. He can guard multiple positions, plays within the offense and knocks down shots.
Miami is looking to sign at least four or five players in the class of 2013, and Reed is the second in that group. The Hurricanes also have a commitment from local product DeAndre Burnett. Josh Hart and Reggie Cameron will take trips to Miami next weekend, and JaJuan Johnson and Austin Colbert are also major targets for the Hurricanes.
