Miami Hurricanes land Texas transfer Sheldon McClellan
Texas transfer Sheldon McClellan has made a decision: He's headed to Miami.
Miami has made waves on the transfer market this spring, nabbing two players that could be eligible to play immediately. Late Sunday night, head coach Jim Larranaga landed another transfer, according to sources: former Texas guard Sheldon McClellan.
McClellan, a 6-foot-4 guard from Houston, averaged 13.5 points and 3.9 rebounds last season. His shot selection wasn’t great, but he was one of the more prolific scoring guards on the market. He will have to sit out the upcoming season and will have two seasons of eligibility beginning in 2014-15.
The Hurricanes already picked up transfer commitments from Kansas State point guard Angel Rodriguez and DePaul big man Donnavan Kirk. Rodriguez is hoping for a waiver to play immediately, while Kirk will get to play his final season in the fall.
