Monday's Bubble Tracker: Miami off bubble (for now) with road win over Virginia
UT Arlington has to stage a comeback to avoid having its tourney hopes damaged
As is typical for a Monday, there were not a lot of bubble teams in action.
However, as the season winds down, each game becomes more important. On Monday, one team had a chance to play itself off the bubble with a quality road win. Another team was just hoping not to throw its chances away. Hereâs what happened:
- Miami 54, Virginia 48 (OT)
Miami played itself off the bubble for now with a victory against slumping Virginia in Charlottesville. That filled the biggest hole on the Hurricanesâ tournament resume, which was the lack of a quality victory away from home. Miami has now won three in a row and seven of nine to put itself in a much more comfortable position.
- UT Arlington 81 Georgia Southern 71
The Mavericks extended their lead in the Sun Belt to a game over Arkansas State with four to play. UT Arlington had to come from behind to avoid what would have been a bad loss, perhaps one that would have knocked them off the wrong side of the bubble.
