Night Court: Sonya Curry's celebration GIF wins the night

Here's everything you need to know from college basketball's Wednesday night, including the live-action Harlem Shake from Colorado State …

Game of the Night: The rivalry doesn't let us down.

Hey, North Carolina Tar Heels had a 10-point lead in the first half. Give UNC credit for walking in and giving a fight. I didn't think it would happen. I expected a breezy Blue Devils wins. And although Duke Blue Devils pulled away in the final minutes, at least it was good theater for a while. Mason Plumlee had 18 and 11 in the 73-68 victory. P.J. Hairston went for 23 and 8 for UNC. Quinn Cook was fairly solid with 18 points and six rebounds.

Oh, and Sonya Curry needs to be officially voted as a Commissioner Mom of College Hoops. She remains awesome.

What else we'll be talking about: Connecticut Huskies takes out Syracuse Orange .

Jim Calhoun watched Kevin Ollie get the best win of his young career. And then Jim Boeheim attacked Andy Katz. It was a weird postgame. More coming on this game in the morning.

That's a good win: Colorado State Rams : now a 20-win team.

No longer a secret, I guess. CSU is 20-4 and streaking toward, yes, believe it, an MWC regular-season title. It's not in the bag, but it'll come down to New Mexico and these guys. The Rams handled San Diego State Aztecs 66-60 in one of the better games that Wednesday night offered. Dorian Green hit a go-ahead 3 with less than a minute to go, separating CSU. Green had a game-high 16. The throwback unis were particularly inspired.

Yep, those are Colorado State's threads from Wednesday night. They were once the Aggies. (US Presswire)

But that's a bad loss: Arizona State Sun Devils , you can't be doing this.

The Sun Devils played at Utah Utes and lost by five. Arizona State has a schedule that won't be kind on further inspection. You can't win them all on the road, but you should win the ones over teams that you're much better than. I suspected 18-7 ASU was much better than 11-13 Utah, so shame on me. That's two losses in a row for Herb Sendek's team.

And that's a bad loss: UNLV Rebels : officially fraudulent?

I didn't want it to be this way. I wanted UNLV to be the team that I thought could make the Final Four. But the Runnin' Rebels are stuck in mud. They fell 71-56 at Air Force Falcons . AFA isn't a bad team, but it's not a strong one, and it made UNLV look especially weak.

And that's just a confusing loss: You're telling me Charlotte 49ers won at Butler Bulldogs ?

Sure. OK. So that happened Wednesday night. Charlotte, the Charlotte 49ers, won at Butler. And it's a 71-67 final. Yes, that's what I'm saying. And I guess I'll have to believe it.

OK, so like half the good teams are just choosing to lose, I guess: Next up, Creighton Bluejays .

The Bluejays are in a freefall. It's three straight Ls for Greg McDermott's team and dropping one on the road 61-54 to sneaky Northern Iowa Panthers . The Missouri Valley is now flirting with having three good teams, none of which are locks to reach the NCAAs.

Players with impact

If only Elston Turner wasn't a senior. Then he might have a shot at being the next great scorer in hoops. Turner, who put up 40 on Kentucky this year, had 37 against Ole Miss Rebels and gave Texas A&M Aggies a 69-67 win.

Korie Lucious dished out a Wednesday-best 11 assists in Iowa State Cyclones 's loss. More on that below.

Numbers to figure:

1: First Missouri Tigers road win of the season came Wednesday night, a 78-36 -- 36! -- outcome at Mississippi State Bulldogs .

16:  The nation's longest winning streak extends one more with Akron Zips 's win at Eastern Michigan Eagles . There are two teams, total, with at least 16 wins in the MAC this season.

Other outcomes of note:

  • I wouldn't have faulted Miami (Fla.) Hurricanes for going to Florida State Seminoles and losing. But Miami didn't go to Florida State and lose; it went to Florida State and won a tight one, 74-68. Team is 11-0 in the ACC. Unforeseeable doesn't even begin to cover it.
  • Notre Dame Fighting Irish dodged a close shave at home against DePaul Blue Demons . The Blue Demons took it to OT before losing 82-78. Jerian Grant had 21, nine assists, five rebounds.
  • Good on Illinois Fighting Illini to not fool around at home and win by 20 over Purdue Boilermakers .
  • Memphis Tigers is 10-0 in Conference USA after a win at home over UCF Knights 93-71. And Josh Pastner playfully gave Parrish a hard time in the on-camera postgame interview. He didn't Boeheim him, that's for sure.

--  Myck Kabongo returned after a 17-game suspension, and, hey, look at that. Texas Longhorns wins 89-86 in overtime against an Iowa State team that's probably going to the NCAAs. Wouldn't it be something if Texas suddenly reeled off five straight wins?

-- It's good to point out the teams that go on the road and win the ones that they should. Like Oregon Ducks taking a late one at Washington Huskies 65-52.
