Orme, Woods help Portland St. snap skid, beat E. Washington

PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) Holland Woods had 15 points and 11 assists and Jamie Orme also scored 15, including 12 after halftime, to help Portland State beat Eastern Washington 78-65 Thursday night to snap a three-game skid.

Woods scored 13 second-half points and Orme, who came in shooting 19 percent (6 of 32) from 3-point range, hit three 3s in a two-plus minute stretch to give the Vikings the lead for good. Sal Nuhu finished with 13 points, Robert McCoy added 11 and Michael Nuga scored 10 for Portland State (7-11, 2-5 Big Sky Conference).

Woods hit a jumper before Orme's trio of treys gave PSU a 58-51 lead with seven minutes to go and it was at least a two-possession game the rest of the way.

Jacob Davison scored a career-high 26 points, Mason Peatling added 15 on 7-of-10 shooting and Tyler Kidd had 11 points and six assists for Eastern Washington (5-13, 3-4).

The Vikings had 22 assists and shot a season-high 60.4 percent (29 of 58) overall, including 17 of 25 (68 percent) in the second half.
