Pitino: Hancock likely to miss first three games
Luke Hancock, who earned Most Outstanding Player honors in last year's Final four, is expected to miss Louisville's early contests.
Louisville forward Luke Hancock will likely miss the first three games of the season due to an achilles injury, Cardinals coach Rick Pitino told CBSSports.com Thursday morning.
The 6-6 Hancock was the Final Four's Most Outstanding Player last April and averaged 8.1 points per game last season.
Without Hancock and suspended forward Chane Behanan, Louisville will likely be without two of its top six rotation players for the first two weeks of the season.
Should Hancock return after the Cardinals' first three games, his first appearance of the 2013-14 season would be against Fairfield at the Hall of Fame tip-off tournament at Mohegan Sun on 11/23. If Louisville beats Fairfield, the Cardinals will play the winner of North Carolina/Richmond the next day.
