Preseason Naismith Watch List released: 50 players deep, few surprises

The college basketball season starts in one day.

On Thursday, the preseason 50-player watch list for the Naismith Award -- one of the six national POY awards in college basketball -- was released. No mega surprises here, obviously, with a list so deep.

Looking for snubs? Creighton's Mo Watson Jr. sticks out, as does Florida State's Jonathan Isaac, Indiana's OG Anunoby and Arizona's Allonzo Trier, but Trier might not even be eligible to play this season, so his absence is warranted.

The ACC has the most players on the list with 12. This gets trimmed to 30 players -- and anyone not mentioned is eligible to make the 30-person midseason list -- on Feb. 9, 2017.
