Remy Abell transferring from Indiana
Sophomore guard Remy Abell is leaving Indiana and transferring.
Indiana already saw Victor Oladipo and Cody Zeller announce for the NBA draft this week, but the Hoosiers aren’t done with departures.
Sophomore guard Remy Abell is leaving Indiana and transferring, the school announced late Friday.
Abell, a 6-foot-4 Louisville native, averaged 4.0 points during his second year in Bloomington. His minutes dipped during Big Ten play, seeing double-figure minutes in just 10 of his final 15 regular-season games.
He’s not a great scorer, but he has the strength and ability to be a very good perimeter defender. Abell did reach double-figure points four times in non-conference play.
Of the seven primary players in Indiana’s rotation, only two return. Yogi Ferrell and Will Sheehey will be joined by rotation players Jeremy Hollowell, Maurice Creek Hanner Perea. The incoming recruiting class will be depending upon heavily, primarily five-star forward Noah Vonleh and four-star prospects Troy Williams, Stanford Robinson and Luke Fischer.
The Hoosiers went 29-7 this season, but were bounced in the Sweet 16 by Syracuse.
