Rutgers vs. Bryant odds: 2019 college basketball picks, Nov. 7 predictions from proven computer
The SportsLine projection model has a pick for the clash between Bryant and Rutgers. Here are the results:
The Rutgers Scarlet Knights will take on the Bryant University Bulldogs at 7 p.m. ET on Thursday at Louis Brown Athletic Center. Bryant ended last year eighth in the Northeast, while Rutgers ended up 10th in the Big Ten. It's just the third meeting all-time between the two programs with Rutgers taking the two previous installments. However, Bryant is 4-1-1 in its last six games against the spread and 6-1-1 against the spread in the last eight games it has played on a Thursday. The Scarlet Knights are favored by 21.5 points in the latest Rutgers vs. Bryant odds, while the over-under is set at 143.5. Before you make any Bryant vs. Rutgers picks or college basketball predictions, you'll want to see what the SportsLine Projection Model is saying.
The model, which simulates every game 10,000 times, has crushed its top-rated against the spread picks the past three years, returning $2,770 to $100 players. It began the 2019-20 season hitting 60 percent of its top-rated spread selections.
Now, it has simulated Rutgers vs. Bryant 10,000 times and the results are in. We can tell you that the model is leaning under, and it also says one side of the spread has all the value. You can only see the pick at SportsLine.
Rutgers struggled last year, ending up 14-17. The Scarlet Knights started the season 5-1 before a four-game losing streak that coincided with the start of Big Ten play. However, they remained at .500 or better until a Feb. 9 loss to Illinois dropped them to 12-13. But that loss against Illinois began a streak of seven consecutive covers for the Scarlet Knights and they'd go on to finish the season 17-14 against the spread. Look for Rutgers to lean heavily on sophomore forward Ron Harper Jr. (7.8 ppg) and junior guard Geo Baker (12.2 ppg, 4.1 apg) as head coach Steve Pikiell seeks his first winning season in Year Four.
Bryant was 10-20 last season and is coming off of a 73-71 loss against Brown. If the game is anything like Rutgers' 83-54 victory from the last time they met November of 2017, the scorekeeper will be kept real busy. However, Bryant more than tripled its win total from three to 10 last season and covered as 6-point underdogs against Brown on Monday. Senior Adam Grant had 21 points in the loss and he has scored 1,338 points in his career at Bryant.
