Who's Playing
Central Connecticut State @ Rutgers
Current Records: Central Connecticut State 3-9; Rutgers 5-5
What to Know
The Rutgers Scarlet Knights will be home for the holidays to greet the Central Connecticut State Blue Devils at 8:30 p.m. ET on Thursday at Jersey Mike's Arena. Central Connecticut State will be strutting in after a win while the Scarlet Knights will be stumbling in from a defeat.
The matchup between RU and the Seton Hall Pirates last week was not a total blowout, but with RU falling 77-63 on the road, it was darn close to turning into one. Guard Geo Baker had a pretty forgettable game, playing for 27 minutes with.
Meanwhile, Central Connecticut State beat the Hartford Hawks 75-65 this past Saturday.
RU is now 5-5 while the Blue Devils sit at 3-9. A pair of offensive numbers to keep in mind before tip-off: The Scarlet Knights have only been able to knock down 40.50% percent of their shots, which is the 35th lowest field goal percentage in college basketball. Central Connecticut State has experienced some struggles of their own as they are 16th worst in college basketball in points per game, with only 62.3 on average. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
