Drexel @ Saint Joseph's
Current Records: Drexel 1-1; Saint Joseph's 2-0
What to Know
The Saint Joseph's Hawks' homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Drexel Dragons at 7 p.m. ET Nov. 17 at Michael J. Hagan '85 Arena. The game is expected to be a close one, with the Hawks going off at just a 2-point favorite.
Saint Joseph's took their contest against the Mount St. Mary's Mountaineers this past Saturday by a conclusive 80-60 score. Saint Joseph's can attribute much of their success to Ejike Obinna, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 15 rebounds, and Taylor Funk, who had 18 points along with six boards.
Meanwhile, the matchup between Drexel and the Syracuse Orange on Sunday was not a total blowout, but with Drexel falling 75-60 on the road, it was darn close to turning into one. A silver lining for Drexel was the play of Mate Okros, who had 16 points in addition to five boards.
The Hawks are now a perfect 2-0 while the Dragons sit at 1-1. Two last-season numbers to keep in mind before tip-off: Saint Joseph's is 27th worst in college basketball in turnovers per game, with 14.1 on average. Drexel experienced some struggles of their own as they are stumbling into the game with the fifth fewest takeaways in college basketball, having accrued only 10.5 on average. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
