The Saint Peter's campus exploded as DJ Khaled's "All I Do is Win" blasted through the speakers. And with that, Saint Peter's Day was officially born on March 17, 2022.
The No. 15 seed Peacocks celebrated after a 85-79 upset win over No. 2 seed Kentucky in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. Not many college basketball experts saw it coming, and not a lot of people knew much about the school. After the game, the university's website crashed with the amount of traffic it was getting.

It was the type of good chaos that served as a reminder of why March Madness is so special.

But the Peacocks' official Twitter account wanted more, and went on to publicly request Twitter to verify them. UMBC Athletics, a now-verified account, was quick to welcome Saint Peter's into the club. The Retrievers are best known for upsetting No. 1 seed Virginia as a No. 16 seed in 2018.

While many are still learning about Saint Peter's, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy never doubted the team. He went on Twitter to share his bracket in which he had predicted the upset.

Singer Jack Harlow also went on social media to acknowledge the Peacocks, tweeting "Always been a fan of St. Peter's." The feeling was mutual as the Peacocks replied that they play his music in Run Baby Run arena in Jersey City.
