San Diego State's Jamaal Franklin heading to NBA
San Diego State junior forward Jamaal Franklin is heading to the NBA, a source told CBSSports.com. Franklin is expected to make an announcement next week.
The 6-foot-5 California native barely played as a freshman, but he averaged 17.4 points and 7.9 rebounds last season and put up 17 points, 9.5 boards and 3.3 assists this past season for the Aztecs.
NBA executives told CBSSports.com that Franklin, a tough, athletic forward who spent much of his time guarding bigger players in his college career, could go in the first round of June's NBA Draft.
Franklin only shot 28 percent from beyond the arc this past year, and his perimeter shot is the concern for NBA personnel.
