Sources: Eustachy speaks to Colorado State about opening

Southern Miss coach Larry Eustachy has spoken with Colorado State about its opening and is among the leading candidates to replace Tim Miles at the Mountain West Conference school, multiple sources told CBSSports.com on Wednesday.

A source said the school has also spoken with Weber State's Randy Rahe, New Mexico assistant Craig Neal and two CSU assistants -- Niko Medved and Craig Smith -- about the opening, but Eustachy is the biggest name being seriously considered. He's a former AP National Coach of the Year at Iowa State who led Southern Miss to this season's NCAA tournament.

Miles left CSU last month to become the head coach at Nebraska.
