Who's Playing
Western Kentucky @ Southern Miss
Current Records: Western Kentucky 8-5; Southern Miss 4-8
What to Know
The Western Kentucky Hilltoppers are 7-0 against the Southern Miss Golden Eagles since March of 2016, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. WKU is on the road again on Thursday and plays against Southern Miss at 8 p.m. ET Dec. 30 at Reed Green Coliseum. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
The Hilltoppers took a serious blow against the Kentucky Wildcats last week, falling 95-60.
Meanwhile, Southern Miss was just a bucket shy of a win last Tuesday and fell 68-67 to the East Carolina Pirates. Guard Jaron Pierre Jr. (20 points) was the top scorer for Southern Miss.
The losses put WKU at 8-5 and the Golden Eagles at 4-8. WKU is 2-2 after losses this season, Southern Miss 1-6.
