Tennessee's Cuonzo Martin removes name from Marquette consideration
Tennessee coach Cuonzo Martin has removed himself from consideration at Marquette and is now expected to remain head coach of the Vols, a source told CBSSports.com on Monday night.
Martin spoke with Marquette officials on Sunday about the opening created when Buzz Williams left for Virginia Tech. The 42-year-old coach just finished his third season at Tennessee. He led the Vols to 24 wins and a trip to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament.
Marquette's search is now likely focused on Duke assistant Steve Wojciechowski.
CBSSports.com first reported earlier that he interviewed for the opening on Monday.
