Tom Crean speaks on absence of frosh Jeremy Hollowell
Indiana has won two straight since losing to Butler, but freshman forward Jeremy Hollowell hasn't played.
Indiana bounced back from last weekend’s loss to Butler with two wins, but the absence of freshman forward Jeremy Hollowell has been a mystery.
Hollowell did not play on Tuesday against Mount St. Mary’s – despite dressing – and he didn’t even suit up for Friday’s game against Florida Atlantic. After the FAU contest, head coach Tom Crean read a statement. From Inside Indiana:
Jeremy is dealing with a personal and a private matter that is in no way related to academic behavior or disciplinary issues. He has our full support as we look for a quick resolution. Out of respect for he and his family, we will not discuss it further.
Hollowell, a 6-8 native of Indianapolis, was averaging 5.7 points and 3.0 rebounds in 10 games this season. He started his Hoosiers career with back-to-back double-figure scoring efforts in November.
