What to Know
The #6 Arizona Wildcats have been on the wrong side of a one-way rivalry with the #5 UCLA Bruins and are hoping to record their first win since March 9 of 2018. The Wildcats and UCLA will face off in a Pac-12 battle at 9 p.m. ET on Thursday at Pauley Pavilion. UCLA should still be riding high after a victory, while Arizona will be looking to right the ship.
Arizona was close but no cigar this past Wednesday as they fell 77-73 to the Tennessee Volunteers. Guard Kerr Kriisa wasn't much of a difference maker for Arizona; Kriisa fouled out and turned the ball over four times en route to an 11-point finish.
Meanwhile, while not quite a landslide, the contest between the Bruins and the Marquette Golden Eagles three weeks ago was still a pretty decisive one as UCLA wrapped it up with a 67-56 victory on the road. UCLA's guard Jaime Jaquez Jr. looked sharp as he dropped a double-double on 24 points and 11 boards.
Arizona is now 11-1 while UCLA sits at 8-1. A pair of offensive numbers to keep in mind before tip-off: Arizona comes into the game boasting the most points per game in college basketball at 89.5. The Bruins are not quite as good, but they are no chumps, either: they enter the matchup with 81.1 points per game on average, good for 28th best in college basketball.
