UNC Asheville has promoted Nick McDevitt to replace Eddie Biedenbach. An official announcement is expected at 1 p.m. ET on Friday.
Biedenbach left in early April to become an assistant with Buzz Peterson at UNC Wilmington after 17 seasons as the head coach with the Bulldogs. He was 256-258 in his tenure.
McDevitt, 34, is an alum who has been on staff for the past dozen years, including the past two as the associate head coach.
The other finalists were reportedly Charlotte assistant Ryan Odom and former Ball State head coach Billy Taylor.
