VIDEO: Andrew Wiggins interview on his rise and time at prep school
Wiggins will more than likely be the face of college basketball this season. With that in mind, here's a quick documentary on his time in prep school.
Canada-based On Point Basketball has put out a video on Andrew Wiggins that sheds some light on the hoops prodigy. Generally speaking, plenty of pub has been spent on Wiggins in the past two years, but who he is as a person -- a kid, still -- remains unknown by most.
This video doesn't tear away any veils, but it does shed a bit more information on Wiggins, his Canadian background, and why he chose to play prep basketball at a small town in the U.S. after starting in his hometown, Vaughan, Ontario.
There's also quick interviews with his parents, Mitchell and Marita Payne-Wiggins. The video, which was uploaded to YouTube this week, predominantly features a Wiggins interview dating back to 2012, more than five months before he decided to attend Kansas.
The primary interview takes place where Wiggins played his high school ball, at Huntington Prep in West Virginia, which is now one of a few schools the NCAA is no longer allowing coaches to visit for recruiting purposes.
"It came quicker than I thought," Wiggins says of his success and fame. "I remember grade six, I barely played."
