Who's Playing

Pittsburgh @ Louisville

Current Records: Pittsburgh 5-8; Louisville 9-4

What to Know

The Pittsburgh Panthers are 1-10 against the Louisville Cardinals since January of 2016, but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit Wednesday. The Panthers and U of L will face off in an ACC battle at 7 p.m. ET at KFC Yum! Center. The Cardinals will be strutting in after a victory while Pitt will be stumbling in from a defeat.

Pitt was just a bucket short of a win last week and fell 68-67 to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Forward John Hugley put forth a good effort for the losing side as he had 18 points along with six rebounds.

Speaking of close games: U of L came out on top in a nail-biter against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Sunday, sneaking past 67-64. Four players on U of L scored in the double digits: forward Malik Williams (20), guard Dre Davis (13), forward Matt Cross (13), and guard Noah Locke (10).

The Panthers are the clear underdogs, so they're hoping it's the size of the fight that determines this one. However, those who like betting on the underdog should be happy to hear that they are 6-1 against the spread when expected to lose.

Pitt is now 5-8 while the Cardinals sit at 9-4. Two stats to keep an eye on: Pitt has only been able to knock down 40.90% percent of their shots, which is the 42nd lowest field goal percentage in college basketball. U of L's defense has more to brag about, as they they have been holding their opponents to a field goal percentage of 38.80%, which places them 33rd in college basketball. So the cards are definitely stacked in their favor.
