WATCH: Northeastern drops No. 15 Miami 78-77 on buzzer beater
It's Quincy Ford's world today, we're all just living in it. Northeastern defeated No. 15 Miami (Fla.) 78-77 on a buzzer-beating 20-footer from Ford, who scored 24 points and grabbed six rebounds in the win.

Weirdly, the Huskies were coming off of a loss at Miami (Ohio), which means they'll get an unexpected split against the similarly-named schools. All-CAA point guard David Walker also scored 21 points to help Ford lead the Huskies to a win.
Obviously, this is a pretty big win for Northeastern and Bill Coen, who are coming off of an NCAA Tournament appearance last season for the first time since 1991. They looked primed to have a chance to do the same thing again in the CAA this season.
As far as Miami is concerned, this result is surprising given how it had played early in the season. Northeastern has a ton of talent for a mid-major squad, but the Hurricanes had been playing as well as anyone in the country. Experienced squads like Miami in the past have been able to avoid letdowns like this. But nobody is immune to losses when they run into hot teams, as the Huskies knocked down 12 3s, including the first seven they attempted.
Even looking on the offensive end, it's hard to point to anyone that performed poorly. The entire backcourt of Angel Rodriguez, JaQuan Newton, Davon Reed and Sheldon McClellan scored efficiently and didn't turn the ball over more than expected. Tonye Jekiri was solid inside, too, providing five blocks and 12 rebounds.
For that reason, I don't think there's necessarily a ton to take away from this one for Miami. It's never a great look to drop a home game to a mid-major if you're a top-15 team, but sometimes the team on the other side just catches fire and deserves to beat you.
