Air Force working on Georgia State game for 2014-15; Will Falcons be in Big East by then?

Air Force Academy is working to schedule a game with Georgia State for as early as 2014 and possibly in the Georgia Dome, according to a source.

Georgia State will officially join the Football Bowl Subdivision in 2014, though it'll begin playing a Sun Belt Conference schedule next year. Air Force, coming off five straight bowl appearances, is 2-3 on the year, 1-1 in Mountain West Conference play.

Air Force could be a Big East member by the time it visits Atlanta. Air Force is one of a handful of schools in the mix as the Big East mulls expansion to 14 or 16 teams, per ESPN's Brett McMurphy. The Big East is in the second month of a 60-day exclusive rights window with ESPN for a new media rights deal, and the parameters of the deal could crystallize expansion plans.

Though there's been mutual interest, I'm told no deal is imminent while Air Force Academy Superintendent Michael C. Gould, considered a Mountain West loyalist, is still in place. He's retiring next year.
