Ohio State Buckeyes State" data-canon="Ohio Bobcats" data-type="SPORTS_OBJECT_TEAM" id="shortcode0"> moved to 18-0 under head coach Urban Meyer with their 40-30 win at Northwestern Wildcats on Saturday night, but the most dramatic change to the polls after a Saturday with few shakeups among the Top 25 came from a simple two spot jump for Florida State from No. 8 to No. 6 after a 63-0 rout of then-No. 25 Maryland Terrapins at home. Redshirt freshman quarterback Jameis Winston was outstanding, completing more than 70 percent of his passes while setting new career-highs for passing yards (393) and touchdowns (5).

The Seminoles jumped a banged-up Georgia Bulldogs team that was lucky to escape Knoxville with a win. The Bulldogs entered the game without Todd Gurley , and lost Keith Marshall to a knee injury in the first quarter. Aaron Murray directed the offense against a spirited effort from Butch Jones' Volunteers, but the overtime win kept the Bulldogs in the driver's seat for the SEC East and in the Top 10.

Stanford Cardinal and Washington Huskies played a late night classic on The Farm, with the Cardinal standing against multiple rallies from Keith Price and Bishop Sankey to hold on for a 31-28 win. The Huskies defense limited Kevin Hogan 's production, but Ty Montgomery 's special teams efforts tipped the scale and Stanford got some help from an official ruling of an incomplete pass on the Huskies final drive that led to a turnover on downs.

Arizona State, Ole Miss Rebels and Maryland fell from their position in the high 20's of the poll, opening up spots for Northern Illinois Fighting Illini , Virginia Tech, Missouri Tigers to make their entry.
