Former Arkansas running back Rawleigh Williams III retired from football after sustaining a neck injury in spring practice on April 29, but he won't be stepping too far from football for his first steps without pads.

SEC Country is reporting, via Razorbacks coach Bret Bielema and Williams himself, that the star running back received several internship offers and other opportunities from NFL franchises, including the Dallas Cowboys.

The connection with the Cowboys is obvious with Arkansas alum Jerry Jones at the helm and Williams coming from the Dallas area as a three-star prospect out of Bishop Lynch High School.

Williams, who led the SEC in rushing during the 2016 regular season, averaged 5.6 yards per carry and picked up 1,360 yards with 12 touchdowns just one year after missing the 2015 campaign due to a neck injury.

He was set to enter the 2017 campaign as one of the SEC's best offensive players, but a hit he took on what wound up being the final play of the Arkansas spring game -- it was ended following his injury -- "shook" coach Bret Bielema, the program and his family.
