Bo Nix might get assigned a few extra sprints when Auburn resumes football conditioning after he took a jab at his coach's age on this week's episode of "CBS Sports Connected." Nix, Auburn's quarterback, and his coach Gus Malzahn linked up for a conversation featured in the second episode of the show that will air Thursday at 8 p.m. ET on on CBS Sports Network. The two exchanged some banter over Malzahn's apparent history of beating Nix in various athletic competitions. But Nix contested Malzahn's recollection by saying that co-offensive coordinator Kodi Burns carried Malzahn's team when Malzahn and Nix faced off in a cornhole game.

"Everything is great about Bo but his memory," Malzahn shot back.

"I think that's reversed," Nix said. "Who is the younger one here?"

The exchange showed the lighter side of the relationship between Auburn's 20-year-old signal caller and its 54-year-old coach. Nix threw for 2,542 yards, 16 touchdowns and just six interceptions and also ran for seven scores while leading the Tigers to a 9-4 season in a freshman season that featured a win over Alabama.

His conversation with Malzahn is one of two from an SEC-dominated episode of "CBS Sports Connected" that also features conversations with Georgia coach Kirby Smart and South Carolina coach Will Muschamp.

The show debuted last week with appearances from Kansas basketball coach Bill Self and Michigan State coach Tom Izzo.
