We're still over seven months away from National Signing Day, but that doesn't mean we can't check in and see how each conference is doing on the recruiting trail. Given how accelerated the entire process has become, the team rankings are a nice checkup with plenty of time to make a move up (or down) the list. Without further ado, here are the team rankings for the Big 12:

1. Texas

Commitments: 15 total, six in the top 100

Top pledge: Tyrone Swoopes (4th overall)

Shocking to find Texas atop the rankings well before Signing Day, right? The Longhorns have once again done well in-state by locking up most of the top recruits such as Swoopes and lineman Jake Raulerson.
2. Oklahoma

Commitments: 11, three in the top 100

Top pledge: Greg Bryant (31st)
A class that will wind up with prospects from coast-to-coast, the Sooners already have top running backs from Texas and Florida.

3. Baylor

Commitments: 12

Top pledge: Robbie Rhodes

It still seems surprising to see the Bears this far up but they've done a great job capitalizing on their great season last year. Art Briles and company also own a head-to-head win against Mack Brown for Rhodes.

4. Oklahoma State

Commitments: 9

Top pledge: Fred Ross
Quarterback commit Luke Del Rio was impressive on the camp circuit and has two good targets to throw to in Ross and Marcell Ateman.

5. TCU

Commitments: 9

Top pledge: Paul Whitmill
Not a bad spot for the conference newcomers, who will certainly take their time and evaluate players as seniors.

6. West Virginia

Commitments: 9

Top pledge: Darrien Howard
Quarterback Chavas Rawlins is, well, raw but a good fit for Dana Holgorsen's system while Howard is a nice pick up for the defense.

7. Texas Tech

Commitments: 7
Top pledge: Davin Lauderdale
A pair of Juco corners will help reinforce the secondary while Lauderdale should provide a nice threat on offense.

8. Kansas

Commitments: 5

Top pledge: Jordan Darling
Charlie Weis isn't landing four- and five-star guys with the Jayhawks, to say the least.

9. Kansas State

Commitments: 4

Top pledge: Chance Allen
Allen is a great add to this class if they can keep him in the fold until Signing Day.

10. Iowa State

Commitments: 3

Top pledge: Trevor Hodge
Plenty of work left to be done but landing a quarterback like Hodge is a good start.
