Big 12 preseason poll: TCU runs away with No. 1 spot as Texas sits 5th
TCU was the most popular pick to win the Big 12 in a poll of conference media members.
Going into the 2015 season most people believe the Big 12 to be a two-horse race, but it appears one of those horses has a lot more support behind it.
The Big 12 preseason media poll was released on Thursday, and TCU was the overwhelming favorite to win the conference.
As you can see, only TCU and Baylor received any of the 42 first-place votes, but TCU claimed 32 of them. That comes as a bit of a surprise to me, because I can't help but think the two teams are more evenly-matched then that. It's possible the fact this year's game between the two teams is being played in Fort Worth skewed the predictions.
Aside from the those two, though, how amazing is it that we have a preseason poll for the Big 12 as a football conference, and neither Oklahoma or Texas received a first-place vote?
