Murray State @ Bowling Green
Current Records: Murray State 1-1; Bowling Green 0-2
What to Know
The Murray State Racers are staying on the road Saturday to face off against the Bowling Green Falcons at 5 p.m. ET Sept. 18 at Doyt L. Perry Stadium. MSU is expected to win -- but not by much -- so they will need to come into the contest prepared for a fight.
It was all tied up 7-7 at halftime, but the Racers were not quite the Cincinnati Bearcats' equal in the second half when they met last week. MSU played a game they are hoping to forget as they lost a 42-7 blowout to Cincinnati. This matchup was a close 7-7 at the break, but unfortunately for MSU it sure didn't stay that way. QB Preston Rice had a memorable game, but not in the way you want to be remembered: despite one touchdown, he threw three interceptions with only 5.14 yards per passing attempt.
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought contest, but Bowling Green had to settle for a 22-19 loss against the South Alabama Jaguars last week.
With the two teams each stumbling in off of a defeat, both will be hungry for the win. Giving up four turnovers, the Racers had had trouble holding onto the ball. We'll see if the Falcons can exploit that vulnerability.
