While only Bret Bielema can truly know what led him to leave Wisconsin for Arkansas last December, we now know that the raise he received probably didn't hurt.

The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette found out the details of Bielema's contract at Arkansas, and in his first season in Fayetteville Bielema will make $2.95 million, with bonuses that could push that number to $3.65 million. Bielema made $2.6 million during his last season with the Badgers.

Bielema's salary places him in a tie for fifth with Florida's Will Muschamp amongst SEC head coaches. Nick Saban, Les Miles, Steve Spurrier and Mark Richt comprise the top four.

As for other details of the contract, were Arkansas to fire Bielema before the end of the 2015 season it would owe him $12.8 million, with that number decreasing by $3.2 million each year through the end of the deal in 2018. On the other side of that coin, if Bielema were to leave Arkansas for another job this season, he's owe the school $3 million with that number decreasing by $500,000 each season.
